Merritt Island High School
Merritt Island High School first year as an accredited school on Merritt Island, Florida in Brevard county was in 1965. Merritt Island High School just recently celebrated it’s 50th year in August 2015.
Home of the Mustangs. Home to the three time Florida High School State Football Champions. Home to the Boys State Soccer Champions for 2009 and 2014. Home to the girls State Soccer Champions 2010. Home to the boys Baseball State Champions for 1999 and 2000. Home to the girls Volleyball State Champions 2011.

Leon Bright – 1972-74 Professional NFL and CFL Football player. Last played with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Clint Hurdle – 1975 Professional MLB Baseball player and manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Jeff Wickersham – 1982 Professional Football player for the CFL Ottawa Rough Riders.
Hurlie Brown – 1987 Professional Football player in the CFL.
Merritt Island High School is a fully accredited public high school for grades 9-12. It provides vocational, general as well as college preparatory curriculum. To graduate, students must have a minimum of 26 credits.
