Did you know that Florida’s Space Coast stretches for more than 72 miles? In Brevard County, we’re extremely fortunate to have some of the state’s finest beaches for residents to enjoy. Whether it’s for some Sunday afternoon relaxation while reading a book or you want a picturesque beach to walk the dog early in the morning, we’ve got five of the county’s best beaches for you to take note of right here:
Coconut Point Park – With almost 37 acres of stunning beachside to explore, Coconut Point Park, along Melbourne Beach, is one of the most popular areas for watersports activities. Here, you can partake in anything from surfing to beachcombing to sea fishing. There is also wheelchair access via one of the beach’s dune crossovers, making it suitable for everyone to enjoy.
Sebastian Inlet State Park – Further along Melbourne Beach is the spectacular Sebastian Inlet State Park, famed for its crystal blue waters and white sands. So clear is the water that the area offers some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving you can find anywhere in the United States, as well as saltwater fishing. If you own a boat, the park has its own marina that you can use to moor up and soak up the sunshine in a truly relaxed atmosphere.
Cocoa Beach – Cocoa Beach might not have sand or sea quite like you would experience if you traveled to the Bahamas, but one thing the Cocoa Beach has over many other beaches on the planet is the ability to view monthly rocket launches from the Kennedy Space Center. This is truly a spectacle to behold, and along with its world-famous surfing competitions and watersports, Cocoa Beach is the perfect place to explore and stay for the active types.
Sidney Fischer Park – Aptly named after the former mayor of Cocoa Beach, Sidney Fischer is another firm favorite along Cocoa Beach for every age. Its ocean-fronted park is a great spot for a picnic and with hundreds of car parking spaces available, it makes for a great place to start the day by walking your dog. The beach itself is only 10 acres in size, making it one of the more intimate parks to explore.
Titusville – Located to the north of the Space Coast is the old-fashioned beach resort of Titusville. It’s one of the quieter beach resorts you’ll find in Brevard, making it ideal for those days and weekends when all you need is time for relaxation and reflection. The resort is also recognised for its natural beauty, with many people venturing to Titusville to kayak along the beach and bird-watch.
Living in a county like Brevard means that there is always something to see and do. Its proximity to the Space Center makes the area a fantastic educational environment for all ages and its plethora of beaches also creates the perfect weekend lifestyle. For working parents, you’ll be pleased to hear unemployment rates are at or below 5% at present, with job opportunities abound along the Space Coastline.
